Important Information Before Booking
Do the cottages have air conditioning?
None of the cottages at Suri Kachi has air conditioning. They are intentionally designed to welcome the natural mountain air, sounds and atmosphere of Doi Chang.
The weather is generally cool and comfortable during our operating seasons, although temperatures may vary depending on the season and daily weather conditions.
If air conditioning is essential for your comfort, our accommodation may not be the right fit for your stay. Please consider this before confirming your booking.
What does an open-air cottage mean?
Some areas of the cottages are designed to welcome more natural airflow than a fully enclosed hotel room. Guests can therefore experience the mountain’s natural temperature, humidity and atmosphere more closely.
This style of accommodation is best suited to guests who enjoy fresh air, nature and a simple way of staying.
Are there mosquitoes or insects?
Suri Kachi is surrounded by coffee and macadamia gardens, so mosquitoes and other naturally occurring insects may occasionally be present, particularly during the rainy season and in the evening.
During the cool season, they are usually very few and are often hardly noticed. Their presence may vary depending on the weather each day.
Mosquito repellent is provided at the property. If you have an allergy or any particular concerns, please contact us before booking.
Is the property quiet?
The overall atmosphere is peaceful and private, although it is not the same as staying in a soundproof room. You may hear the wind through the trees, rustling leaves, birdsong, rainfall and the gentle rhythms of the local community from time to time.
These natural sounds are part of the mountain experience at Suri Kachi.
What type of accommodation is Suri Kachi?
Suri Kachi is a small, family-run mountain stay, and our family lives within the property.
Our hospitality is warm, personal and connected to nature, so the experience may feel different from staying at a large hotel or resort.
What is the difference between the two cottages?
Baan Phra Phon
Suitable for 2–3 guests, with one king-size bed, a bathtub, a private balcony and sunset views.
Baan Athitthan
Suitable for 4–6 guests, with two bedrooms, three queen-size beds, two bathrooms, a living room and a dining area.

Can I change cottages after booking?
We are happy to check availability for you, but cottage changes depend on availability at the time and cannot always be guaranteed.

Is there a shared guest area?
We have a shared area where guests can sit, relax and spend time together. Tea and coffee are available, along with a small selection of local products and Suri Kachi souvenirs.
Guests are welcome to enjoy a drink, unwind and take in the surrounding garden and mountain atmosphere.
What activities are available?
Suri Kachi’s experiences are connected to nature, coffee and the local way of life. Availability varies according to the season and may include:
- Doi Chang coffee experience: Visit a coffee garden, learn about harvesting and processing, taste local coffees and try hand-drip brewing. This experience is normally available from October to February, depending on the coffee season each year.
- Waterfall trip: Available throughout the year, subject to the weather, water conditions and safety on the day of travel.
- Local experiences: These may include visiting a sheep farm, making traditional khao puk, walking through the community, visiting viewpoints and joining small activities within the property. Availability depends on the season and the local community.
The experiences may be different with every visit, reflecting the changing rhythms of nature and the seasons.
Should activities be booked in advance?
We recommend asking about and reserving activities in advance, as some experiences require ingredients, transportation or coordination with members of the local community.
We will let you know which activities are available during your stay, together with their duration, details and any additional charges, before you confirm.
What is the journey to the property like?
The road to Doi Chang is a mountain road with bends, steep sections and some narrow areas. We recommend travelling during daylight hours and following the location pin and route provided by the property.
Please avoid shortcuts through coffee gardens, as some routes may be unsuitable for regular vehicles. Private transfers can also be arranged with advance notice.
What clothing and footwear should I bring?
The property mainly operates during the rainy and cool seasons. We close during the hot season each year for annual maintenance and improvements.
Rainy season: We recommend bringing rainwear or an umbrella, together with footwear suitable for wet ground and natural terrain.
Cool season: Mornings and evenings can be quite cold, so please bring warm layers, a jacket or other suitable cold-weather clothing.
Mountain weather can change from day to day, so we recommend checking the forecast before travelling.
Can children, older guests or guests with limited mobility stay at the property?
Families travelling with children are welcome. As the property is surrounded by nature and has varying ground levels, children should be supervised closely.

We offer local dishes, Thai barbecue, à la carte meals, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Some dishes need to be ordered in advance.
Our kitchen closes at approximately 6:30 p.m. Please let us know in advance about any food allergies or dietary requirements.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: 2:00–6:00 p.m.
Check-out: By 11:00 a.m.
